Charis
Course
for Childbirth Professionals
Want to become a Childbirth Educator, Doula, or Midwife? Charis
offers excellent education for birth professionals from a Christian
perspective.
The Charis Course for Childbirth Professionals is a two-part
course. The first part is “Foundations for Childbirth
Professionals”. In addition to this being the beginning of our
Midwifery Academics Course, those who desire to become Childbirth
Educators and Doulas will be fully equipped at the end of
“Foundations” to take the exam to become Charis Certified Childbirth
Educators and Doulas.
Part Two is “Advanced Midwifery Academics”, which builds upon
“Foundations” to provide aspiring midwives an extremely
comprehensive academic course. The two parts combined are designed
to prepare midwives well for the NARM exam, but you will find that
it far exceeds that standard.

Our
Director's Heart

Hello
Family!
There are several things on my heart this month. First, let me say
“Happy Father’s Day” to all the dads who read this
newsletter. On behalf of the rest of the Charis family, I honor you
men who have stepped up and chosen to selflessly lead and serve your
families. May you reap great rewards for your sacrifice!
Around Father’s Day each year, I can’t help but reminisce about when
I was a little girl. I’m not sure why, but every year for Father’s
Day I would give my Dad “Turtle Wax” for his car. He seemed to be
thrilled with my choice of gifts. If you ever have a conversation
with my Dad about my childhood, he will undoubtedly tell you all
about how I was twelve years old before my feet ever touched the
ground. Well, that may be a slight over-exaggeration, but the truth
is that I loved it when my Daddy would hold me, carry me, cuddle
with me. It just seemed to me that all was well in the world when I
was in my Daddy’s arms.
Remembering that, it has made me fall in love over and over and over
again with my husband as I see him hold and cuddle with our
children. It so endeared my heart to Todd when he “wore” our babies
in the sling… even when serving communion at church. I believe that
one of the reasons my children are so secure is that their Daddy is
quick to go to them when they cry and he is eager to meet their
needs, even when it is inconvenient for him. I pray that we will
raise up this generation of children who have an accurate view of
Father God because their earthly fathers have chosen to be living
examples of God’s Father Heart. Thank you, fathers!
Next, my heart has been heavy this month for couples who want to
be parents, but because of repeated miscarriages or infertility,
their hearts and wombs are crying out and longing to carry and birth
a baby. I was recently in a service where people who were
struggling with infertility were asked to come forward for prayer. I
saw the deep grief on their faces. The Bible says that “hope
deferred makes the heart sick”. Their hearts were evidently sick. I
realized at that moment that God also sees their hearts and desires
to touch their lives. As a result, I am more committed than ever to
pray for people whose wombs are aching for a baby. Charis has a
group of intercessors who will pray specifically for anyone who
would like for us to join them in praying for God to bless them with
a baby. We invite all our readers who desire to conceive and birth a
baby to send an e-mail directly to me Kristin@CharisChildbirth.org
telling about yourself and your struggle and how we can be praying
for you specifically. Then, when you are pregnant, let us know so we
can cover your pregnancy in prayer. When your baby is born, tell us
so we can rejoice with you. If we don’t hear from you, we’re going
to keep praying for you to have a baby… and you just might end up
with a hundred babies! So, please send in your praise reports! (Your
story will remain confidential and we will not share anything
publicly unless you give us permission.)
Lastly, OUR NEW WEB SITE IS UP AND RUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take a look. It is so beautiful and super functional. Our excellent
webmaster, David, has done a fantastic job with our site. It has
plenty of room for growth, with lots of really cool features we are
not yet even utilizing. We’re still working on it and there are more
things to be added, so check back often.
