Childbirth in Kenya
by Jannekah Guya
Jannekah's two oldest babies,
Amariah
and Ezriel
I have a pregnant
client and friend who was recently telling me about a beautiful experience she
had with her unborn child and the Lord. She was telling me how she was
participating in holy communion for the first time since she'd gotten pregnant.
She described what an incredibly moving experience it was in many ways.
She said she was moved to weeping when she realized what Jesus Christ did on the
cross means so much more when we become mothers and have children who need the
saving work He did there. She said she was thankful for His sacrifice in a
whole new way when she thought about how it would impact her child's life on
earth and for all eternity. She continued to describe what a powerful
thought it was to realize that as she took communion, her baby was actually
physically participating and taking communion through her as well. Brings
a whole new perspective to "baby's first communion"!
I share this story because as lovers of birth and new life, and as all around
the world we get ready to unitedly celebrate the most important birth of all
time - the birth that makes the most important kind of new life possible - I
can't help but reflect that without His death, Jesus' birth really wouldn't mean
much. He was born to die. For all of man kind. But
unfathomably, He still would have done it all if the only person in the universe
who needed the salvation His death provided, was my dear friends precious little
unborn baby. What a loving God He is! And what a privilege it is to
partner with Him in His continued work of miraculous birth and new life both
physically, and thanks to His precious Son, spiritually too.
Merry Christmas to you all! I pray you will experience a whole new
revelation of our precious Savior this season, and whole new depth in your
understanding of His love and sacrifice for you and for those we have the
privilege of serving! I am so thankful for all of you, and am honored to
serve the Servant King with you shoulder to shoulder.
With all Peace, Joy, and Love,

'Behold, I will bring them from the north country, And gather them
from the ends of the earth,
Among them the blind and the lame,
The woman with child and The one who labors with child, together,
A
great throng shall return there...And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD.'
