Dear Charis Family,

Thank you, ALL of you who have been praying for a little boy with a full cleft palate, whom I have been trying to help since March.  He is from a "neighborhood" of nomadic people who live in a semi-settled way to the East of the town.  This week he was able to get the first of two surgeries he will need!  It has been such a battle!  When I went to visit him and check on him, it seemed like the whole village came out to gather around me.  They placed plastic flowers on my head, and the children jumped up and down and all wanted to touch my chubby, white skin with their dirt caked hands.  It was noisy, hilarious, and surreal.  My driver was laughing at me when I finally got in the car.  He said, "I wish I had a video of this!"

I just got back from yet another opportunity to be in Candybar, for which I am very grateful.  I have been working non-stop, day and night, before heading out of country on a much needed break in a couple of days.

Please keep the nomadic family of "Moon Ear" in your prayers over the next few months.  Ask that Jesus Himself would visit that village, be Immanuel to them, bring healing and bring true Hope.
