Doran Richards
Doran Richards,
a resident of Virginia, has been married to her loving
husband, Daniel, for 13 years. They have five dear children
- Joshua, Emilyne, Isaac, Elizabeth and Ezra,
all of whom she homeschools. In addition to being a
wife and mother, she enjoys directing a homeschool group called
Classical conversations one day each week. Doran is passionate about
creating better birth experiences for women, which has led her to
become a birth assistant/doula and Trust Birth Facilitator. She also
has memberships to many other birth related organizations in
Virginia and
nationwide. Seeing the need to celebrate the season of childbearing,
she founded
Blessing God's Way ministry which encourages women in
pregnancy. She desires to teach and encourage other women in all the
seasons of a woman's life. Therefore, she takes advantage of the
opportunities the Lord provides to speak at conferences. There
she expounds on subjects that teach the spiritual aspects of a
woman's cycle. Topics include erasing a spirit of fear, trusting
the processes of our cycles,
and taking responsibility
for how God designed us as women. Her
passion is for teaching and showing us that we can rejoice in
how we have been created; giving the Lord all the glory, honor,
and praise for the wonderful design of womanhood!
We are blessed to have Doran as a member of our Charis family.

Kyler's Story
Shared by his Mom, Heather Jones
When I had a
miscarriage last December, I had already involved my son with what
was happening in Mommy's belly. So when he asked about the baby in
my belly, I told him that it's heart was broken. I explained that if
someone's heart is broken and can't make beating sounds then the
person couldn't grow, laugh, play, see, hear, or do anything at all.
So they aren't alive anymore. I told him that we put the baby in the
garden at Grandpa's house, (which we did), so that the baby could
help the flowers grow. So, in THIS pregnancy, when we heard the
baby's heartbeat on the Doppler, my son said, "Mommy! This baby's
heart isn't broken.', with a big smile on his face. That brought
tears to my eyes, and it does every time I think about it. :)
