Hello
Family!
Hasn't
it been great hearing from our Charis family members who are
serving in Madagascar and Central Asia? Did you know that these
people have moved far away from home and friends and family, given
up the comforts they knew living in America, and completely laid
down their lives in order to follow God's calling? Did you know
that they VOLUNTEER full-time to serve in foreign lands? Did you
know that they are making a difference in the lives of individuals
and impacting the communities in VERY positive ways? Did you know
that their work is saving lives?... both physical and spiritual!
Did you know that they can only continue their work if we help
them? So, you may be thinking, "How can I help?"
You
can PRAY, GIVE, &/or GO.
Please
PRAY for these servants!!!
Pray for protection. Protection for their posessions, their
physical bodies, their emotional health, and their lives. As you
may be aware, our Charis family member in Central Asia cannot even
share her name or photograph in any public way because it could
endanger her life. Pray for provision. They have many needs that
we will share with you as we become aware of them. Pray for
"divine appointments" with those they are called to serve and with
people who can partner with them in their service. Pray for favor
with the leaders and other people within the communities they are
called to serve. Add to this list as the Holy Spirit leads you in
your prayers!
Please
GIVE to these servants!!!
If you would like to give any amount of money (no gift is too
small or too big!) to our Charis family members serving around the
globe, you can send a tax-deductible donation to Charis Childbirth
Services with a note on a separate piece of paper (not on the
check) indicating it is for Charis world outreach. 100% of the
money donated in this way will go to support our family members
around the world. Your checks can be mailed to Charis Childbirth
Service at 149 Business Park Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.
You can also make a tax-deductible donation with a debit or credit
card through the New Life web site. For information on how to do
that, contact Nancy Dial at 757-497-2391.
Please
consider GOING to visit these servants!!! Our next short-term
missions trip is planned for a couple weeks during the second half
2007 to serve David and Deborah Hamilton in Madagascar. More
details will be coming soon. The main purpose for the trip is to
be a support to the Hamiltons. Our hope is to be able to take
"birth kits" for Deborah to take to each birth she attends that
will provide her with sterile gloves, sterile cord-cutting
scissors, a hat and blanket for the baby, and other supplies that
will help improve birth outcomes for both moms and babies. We
would also like to take a good fetoscope and other midwifery
tools & supplies for Deborah to carry in her birth bag. If you
would like to participate in this trip, let me know. Deborah says
she will take us to visit a REAL rain forest!
It is
so exciting for me to know that I am impacting the WORLD by being
part of the Charis Family! I love being part of something bigger
than myself! Even if I never step foot in Central Asia, for
example, I know that because of my involvement in Charis, I am
helping our servant there to save the lives of mothers and babies
and to impact that community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
As you
sow into the ministry of the Charis family around the world by
praying, giving, &/or going, I know that you will reap an
incredible harvest! On behalf of our missionaries, THANK
YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
