Charis
Course
for Childbirth Professionals

Want to become a Childbirth Educator, Doula, or Midwife? Charis offers excellent education for birth professionals from a Christian perspective.

The Charis Course for Childbirth Professionals is a two-part course. The first part is “Foundations for Childbirth Professionals”. In addition to this being the beginning of our Midwifery Academics Course, those who desire to become Childbirth Educators and Doulas will be fully equipped at the end of “Foundations” to take the exam to become Charis Certified Childbirth Educators and Doulas.

Part Two is “Advanced Midwifery Academics”, which builds upon “Foundations” to provide aspiring midwives an extremely comprehensive academic course. The two parts combined are designed to prepare midwives well for the NARM exam, but you will find that it far exceeds that standard.

Our Director's Heart

Rose and Kristin Schuchmann
Rose and Kristin playing and singing together

Hello Charis Family!

Have you ever had someone pray out loud for you in your presence? How did you feel after the prayer? Encouraged? Full of faith? More confident that God would hear and answer? I appreciate so very much the prayers people have prayed on my behalf in their prayer closets, but I am super encouraged when I actually hear the prayers being prayed for me.

The Charis intercessors are faithfully praying for those of you who have asked us to pray for you to conceive and give birth to a baby, but we believe there is something more needed. (See James 5:14)

As I have personally been praying, God has brought to remembrance many people I have known over the years that were told they would probably never be able to have a baby, only to go on to have one or more children after being prayed for. One in particular is someone with whom most of you are familiar: contemporary Christian music artist Michael W. Smith. His wife, Debbie, was told by doctors that she would most likely not be able to conceive a baby. When they were at a point in their marriage that they wanted to have children, they looked into the different medical options available to them at the time. As they weighed all their options, they contacted their pastor for guidance. He suggested that the medical procedures would be fine as a last resort, but that they should first do what the Bible instructs in James 5:14-- have the elders anoint them with oil and pray for them. That is exactly what they did. They said that they felt so incredible after hearing all those godly men praying for them. They felt the power of God and knew He was at work. Within 3 months, they were expecting their first baby. The day they found out that they were expecting their fifth baby, they called their pastor and asked him to take them off his prayer list.

If you want to have a baby, but for some reason you have been unable to conceive or carry a baby to term, let us know. We want to be praying for you. But, also, please contact your church elders. Have them anoint you with oil and pray for you. There is so much power in corporate prayer like that. If you don’t have a local church family, find one today! If you live within driving distance of North Port, FL, and you do not currently have a church home, you are welcome to call Pastor Todd Schuchmann at 941-441-6452 to set up a time for our elders to anoint you with oil and pray for you. God loves to work in and through His Body, the Church.

As for the Charis intercessors, we will keep praying and believing for miracle babies. Send us your praise reports! To God be the glory!!!!!!!!!!

Love,

Kristin Schuchmann

'Behold, I will bring them from the north country, And gather them from the ends of the earth,
Among  them the blind and the lame, The woman with child and The one who labors with child,  together,
A great throng shall return there...And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD.'
