Charis Around the World

Childbirth in Kenya

Sweet Charis Family,

It has been more than an honor to write in this amazing newsletter every month for the past 5 years! I am currently taking some somewhat unexpected time in the U.S. to work through some things and will be taking a hopefully short break from writing to focus on finishing my midwifery course and getting back to Kenya as soon as the Lord allows. Please keep my family and me in your prayers when we come to your heart. Kenya is our home and I have loved her hard for 13 years now. My children have known little of life outside Africa. It is bitter-sweet to be away from the world and the people we know and love and long to serve, while basking in the joy of getting to love on and fellowship with our American family who we have missed so dearly from Kenya. Pray for us as we adjust to a very different life in the states. Pray that we will have God's heart and mind in all things. Pray that we will be His hands and feet wherever we go, to whomever we encounter, every single day.

The dreams God has embroidered into my heart are still very much alive and I am challenged and encouraged by my amazing Charis mamas and by the incredible Body the Lord has placed us in to keep running the race with endurance and obedience. I want to honor all those who have supported me so steadfastly in this journey by finishing well so I can begin the next leg! Apparently my home-sickness for Kenya is coming out in running analogies. (= Please pray that God will allow us to return to Kenya soon.

Thank you for reading my heart these past several years. Thank you for praying for me and for cheering me on! I long for and look forward to the day I'll be back here to share all the wonders the Lord has done.

In His Hands,
Jannekah

'Behold, I will bring them from the north country, And gather them from the ends of the earth,
Among  them the blind and the lame, The woman with child and The one who labors with child,  together,
A great throng shall return there...And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD.'
