It is
always so refreshing to spend time with Charis family members! Last
month I had the wonderful privilege to spend the weekend with some
of the Charis students and Susan Oshel (the Charis director of
midwifery studies) at the Charis “Teaching Birth” Workshop where we
spent time learning and practicing how to effectively communicate
with and expertly teach expectant moms and their families. I have to
say, the Charis students are absolutely the BEST! My heart is
overflowing with gratitude to God for placing such amazing women in
my life. Next month’s newsletter will include their stories about
how they were impacted by the workshop and our time together.
Blessings to you and your families,
Kristin Schuchmann
Executive Director, Charis Childbirth, Inc.
Congratulations Kathryn Joseph and Kate McKinney for
successfully completing all the requirements to become our newest
Charis Certified Childbirth Educator/Certified Doulas!!! Kate
is already a fantastic doula and will certainly be an excellent
midwife for families in Virginia. Kathryn, having given birth to
her adorable little Jack ten months ago, is ready to continue
offering her wonderful services as a doula in the Orlando, Florida
area. May God bless you both as you faithfully serve expectant
moms.

Letters to the Editor
Ohhhhh, Susan, what a piece of art this newsletter was! (February,
2010) From the very beginning to the very end, I sat and read
without interruption - and enjoyed it immensely. Thanks so much for
your work. I learn new things every time I read it -
very interesting. Okay, I'll admit it, I enjoyed everything
but all that talk about eating so much cabbage. heheheh, just
kidding, even the raw food diet sounded pretty good. However
it certainly would take some time to adjust to.

Thanks Dave! I always love your comments and indeed agree,
eating raw can stretch our diet-style. All the yummy recipes
each month really helps to add "enjoyment" to the superior health
benefits.
