Update

Charis Membership

We at Charis are extremely grateful for our wonderful members. This past year, your dues have made it financially possible for us to creatively correspond with people in areas of the world where internet is spotty at best. Having all forms of communication available for us is essential if we are going to successfully train birth professionals in the far reaches of the earth. As our community of members grows, there will be more funds available for even more world-impacting outreach. Thank you!

Several people have contacted us recently asking about when their membership dues should be paid. Membership is due every December 31 for the coming calendar year. So, if you became a member on or before December 31, 2009, your dues should be mailed by the middle of December, 2010, to be sure it is received in time. If you became a member sometime in 2010, then your membership is not due until December 31, 2011.

You can send your membership form and $30 dues to:
Charis Childbirth
P.O. Box 6900
North Port, FL 34290

Our address

It's been over a year since Charis headquarters moved to Florida.  If you use our old Virginia Beach address, your mail will not reach us as the post office is no longer forwarding mail.  Be sure to mail your yearly membership fees to the Florida address!

Young girls today often do not receive a Christian perspective on their coming-of-age cycle. Mothers sometimes do not realize how they can place a Christian view on such an event in a girl's life. In this workshop, mothers and daughters learn together about this topic, educating themselves and sparking useful conversation between them about God's design for women.

Our Director's Heart

Sheri Hunt and Kristin Schuchmann

Have you ever looked for your sunglasses, only to find them on top of your head where you put them? Or how about looking all over the house for your keys while you hold them in your hand? Something kind of like that has happened here at Charis.

I have been in need of a great administrative assistant. I didn’t want just anyone. It had to be the perfect person, so I have been looking and looking. I have asked everyone to pray for that person to come along.

Seeing the enormity of what I do and how much I have on my plate, my friend Sheri, who has been praying ever since she met me three and a half years ago for God to bring along just the right person to be part of the Charis administrative team, has often offered to help me out as a volunteer, but I always hesitated to take her up on it because the amount of work I need done is more than I want to ask a volunteer to do.

As the recent workshop approached, my work load was so great that I had no choice but to ask Sheri for the help she has offered so many times. Well, let me tell you, she blew me away! Those of you who came to the workshop last month got a little glimpse of what Sheri is capable of. Talk about going above and beyond! She read my mind and thought of things before I even had the chance to think of them. The entire weekend ran smoothly because of Sheri Hunt.

So, here she was, right here all along, the perfect administrative assistant. Needless to say, I didn’t waste any time hiring her. In the middle of October, Sheri Hunt officially came onboard as my part time administrative assistant.

I will be celebrating many blessings this Thanksgiving, and very high on that list is that I HAVE THE WORLD’S GREATEST ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT!!!

Welcome to the Charis family, Sheri!!!

'Behold, I will bring them from the north country, And gather them from the ends of the earth,
Among  them the blind and the lame, The woman with child and The one who labors with child,  together,
A great throng shall return there...And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD.'
