This is a testimony of how Charis is making a difference evangelistically in the world. Personally, I am amazed the opportunities my Charis training is opening to me, not just in birth, but also to share the Gospel.

A Belgian couple contacted me late summer, and I started meeting with them, showing them some birth options. They are very sharp and humble people. We have become friends, not just client and care provider.

Friendship combined with credible birth knowledge from my studies gives me a good opinion in their eyes, and this has helped them be open to listen to the gospel.

Vitaliy and I took them out to dinner one night; he wanted to specifically present the gospel to them. We had a lovely few hours of conversation about many things in the world—his humanitarian job has taken him from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. Vitaliy also was able to share his testimony—how he also used to be an atheist, and how he came to faith in Christ. The man said that if he believed in God, going to heaven would depend on his works. And Vitaliy explained how he also thought that way until he learned that we have no way to save ourselves and that only in Christ are we accepted.

They were open to hear, and much of this, again, is because of the relationship God had created between us in their childbirth classes.

Currently, I have an unsaved Ukrainian couple coming to my classes, too. Their hearts have warmed up to me already, and Lord willing, they will hear of God’s gift of eternal life soon.

Praise the Lord for Charis training, and that His Word is going out, that hearts are ready, that pregnancy and parenting are times when people are so open to hearing and learning.
