What a
wonderful time we all had at the recent Charis “Labor Support”
Workshop! Childbirth educators, doulas, midwives, students, and
others who just love pregnancy and birth came from many states to
gather at Birthways Family Birth Center in Sarasota and learn more
about serving laboring women. Susan is in the process of collecting
all the pictures that were taken at the workshop and you can look
forward to a full report in next month’s newsletter.
September and October have been beautifully birth-busy for me. I
have had the privilege of seeing many new little ones enter the
world recently and look forward to quite a few more before the end
of October. When life fills up with responsibilities, commitments,
and other “important” things, it is easy to neglect rest and leisure
time. I’m guilty! That is not the healthiest way to live, however.
My body is telling me to slow down and rest so I don’t burn out.
November holds fewer “due dates”, so I’m taking a little break to go
enjoy Epcot with my family. I encourage all of you who are also
feeling weighted down by life’s pressures and demands to give
yourself a break, remember to have a true Sabbath rest each week,
and to take some time for recreation and leisure. When we have
received what we need, then we have what it takes to pour into those
around us and accomplish what God calls us to do.
Blessings to all of you,
Kristin Schuchmann
