Maidens by His Design Workshops

Young girls today often do not receive a Christian perspective on their coming - of - age cycle. Mothers sometimes do not realize how they can place a Christian view on such an event in a girl's life. In this workshop, mothers and daughters learn together about this topic, educating themselves and sparking useful conversation between them about God's design for women.

The next workshop is in Vienna, Virginia.
Oct. 27 & Nov. 3 – from 1:00-5:00 pm.
Doran will teach the whole course in two Saturdays.

Remembering Our Missionaries

Hello Friends,

I can’t believe it is October already! The year is just flying by.

This year I have had the wonderful opportunity to spend some time in person with Elizabeth Carmichael, our missionary who serves in Central Asia, and I am so looking forward to wrapping my arms around Deborah Hamilton, our missionary in Madagascar, when she visits us this month. Spending time with them is kind of like spending time with a celebrity. We hear about the incredible work they are doing on the other side of the world, pray for them faithfully, and are so humbled by their willingness to give up so much to follow God’s calling on their lives. I believe it is safe to say that we have all grown to dearly love these servants.

It is pretty neat that both of our missionaries are here in North America at the same time. Did you know that missionaries have to come back on occasion for the purpose of raising more funds so that they can continue their work? That is one of the reasons for both Elizabeth’s and the Hamiltons’ visit right now. Their sending agencies won’t allow them to go back if they are not fully funded. Both of our missionaries are still in need of more funding before they can head back to the mission field.

If the Lord has stirred in your heart to help our missionaries financially so that they can return to the harvest field and continue the great work they have begun, you can give a tax-deductible gift to them through Charis. Send a check made out to Charis Childbirth Services to 149 Business Park Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462, and include a separate note that it is for Charis missions. You may designate it for a specific missionary or you can make a note that it is to be used where the need is greatest.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for whatever you are able to sow into the ministry of Charis around the world. You will reap a great harvest!

Love and Blessings,
Kristin

'Behold, I will bring them from the north country, And gather them from the ends of the earth,
Among  them the blind and the lame, The woman with child and The one who labors with child,  together,
A great throng shall return there...And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD.'
