Adventures In Madagascar
Praying For The Hamilton
Family
It
appears that I, Kristin, am not the only one with technology
problems these days. The Hamiltons also have had some problems
(above and beyond the normal lack of internet and dependable electricity) and a bunch of folks received a bounce-back from
their server. It was down for about a week, but they think
everything is fixed now.
They were also very busy the last few months. That busyness,
coupled with technology problems, has made it difficult for Deborah
to e-mail.
They are starting to close-down or put on hold some of their
ministry in preparation for their trip to the States. The end of
July will end sewing classes, language classes, and church
visits. They have 2 visits to do in August, one will be the clinic
in Maventibao and the other is a church visit in Sambava. Maventibao
is the village where an American man has started and personally
funds 14 village clinics. Now he has asked the Hamiltons to plant a
church. Once Deborah has finished her midwifery training, she may be
serving in those clinics as midwife. Praise God for these
opportunities to reach the precious people of Madagascar for Jesus!
If your church would like a visit this fall from the Hamiltons where
they can share about their missionary adventures in Madagascar, let
me know and I'll send them your contact information. They are
currently scheduling
their time in the US, don't have firm dates yet, but expect to be in
CA in mid-Sept. There are some churches and family to visit on
the way to the east coast, and they plan to be in AL in mid-Oct.
Deborah says they would like to be in VA before the end of Oct, but
"ya never know".
Hopefully we'll hear directly from Deborah next month.
Love,
Kristin
Missions Trip to Madagascar Reminder
Since the Hamiltons will be traveling back to the US this fall and winter, we have changed our trip date to July of 2008. We are going first and foremost to be a blessing to the Hamiltons. While there, we hope to put on one or more "workshops" for the midwives and other medical
professionals in and around Diego. In addition, we would like to bless the medical professionals with a gift that will help them in
their practice. Please pray for David, Deborah, and Kristin as they seek God's direction for the specific topics to address in the workshop(s). Also pray to see whether or not God would have you join us on this adventure. It will, no doubt, change your life as you go
to serve the Hamiltons and the Malagasy people. We will have the
official "sign-up" at the beginning of 2008. More details to come.

David, Deborah, MarLee and Liam Hamilton
We send our love and prayers to the Hamilton
family!

Tidbits from EBONY
A Child In
Ebony

Lawangga
Dear
Friends at Charis,
The following letter was sent to me this month from the non-American
lady who will be my Project Partner when I move to Ebony. She has
been deeply moved and burdened by this problem she has witnessed.
Please pray for this child and also the many children born with
conditions like this in Ebony.
Love,
Elizabeth Carmichael
“Dear partners,
We do serve a miracle working God who loves every little child.
Nothing happens by accident but according to His divine plan. He
brings people to cross our path for a reason.
A certain mother brought her child to our dental clinic for tooth
extraction. Seeing the child, I was deeply moved by her condition.
She has multiple fresh wounds all over her body. I asked her mother
what happened. She told me that it is because she married her first
cousin. This child was born with a sore on her tongue and after 3
days it started to affect her whole mouth. Now the child is seven
(7) years old and her whole body is infected. Fingers and toes were
almost fused. Her mother brought her to India for treatment but the
doctors there said it was impossible to treat her. Yesterday, I
brought her to our co-worker’s clinic for check up. I hope and pray
that the newly prescribed medicines will give her a little comfort
from itchiness. Imagine the suffering this child is having right now
because of the intense heat of the summer season here. Her mother
said every morning she is cutting the dry cell from the wound which
makes the child cry because of pain. Her 3 year old brother, Jalil,
has also the same dilemma with her. One of her brother with the same
case like her died already. Her two other sisters and one more
brother are pretty well.
The
child’s name is Lawangga. Please bend your knees for her miraculous
physical healing as well as for her brother. She is such a lovely
child with a smile on her lips each time she talks. Yesterday, I
noticed how much she appreciates flowers. She bends her knees and
smells the flowers while touching it very gently. It breaks my heart
to see that a little girl like her with so much suffering can still
treasures the beauty of small things around her.
Thank you all for bearing the burdens for these children, casting
all our concerns for them down at the feet of *JC*, the great
Healer.
On bended knees,
Your "Sister"
