Charis
Course
for Childbirth Professionals

Want to become a Childbirth Educator, Doula, or Midwife? Charis offers excellent education for birth professionals from a Christian perspective.

The Charis Course for Childbirth Professionals is a two-part course. The first part is “Foundations for Childbirth Professionals”. In addition to this being the beginning of our Midwifery Academics Course, those who desire to become Childbirth Educators and Doulas will be fully equipped at the end of “Foundations” to take the exam to become Charis Certified Childbirth Educators and Doulas.

Part Two is “Advanced Midwifery Academics”, which builds upon “Foundations” to provide aspiring midwives an extremely comprehensive academic course. The two parts combined are designed to prepare midwives well for the NARM exam, but you will find that it far exceeds that standard.

Maidens By His Design Workshop

Maidens by His Design workshops spread across Virginia last summer and many women and daughters partook in the learning with grateful hearts! Now, it is back, but within a two-day conference for those of you who missed it last go around. Pass the word along to your women’s ministry, friends, families and homeschool communities.

Fearfully & Wonderfully Made conference is an awesome opportunity for women and their daughters to experience support, encouragement and nourishment for their God-given cycles of maidenhood (menstruation), maternity and menopause – join us as we seek His face during our seasons of life!

Register online at blessingGodsway – click on “BGW Conference” page. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks for all your help in spreading the word… hope to meet you there!

Blessings to you,

Doran Richards

Happy Mother’s Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charis midwifery student Rachel Thompson and I were talking this week about the mission field within our homes. What an honor it is to be chosen by God to lead our little ones to Jesus and to their God-designed destiny!!!!!!! Thinking about that, I realize that just their presence alone is an honor. Look at your babies and your children. How blessed you are!!!!!

Now, take a moment to think of your own mother. Although you most likely took the opportunity to bless her this Mothers Day, I would like to encourage you to bless her and honor her throughout the year in unexpected and wonderful ways. She loves you like no one else can and deserves the honor more than once a year!

At Charis Childbirth, we celebrate motherhood daily. As it should be!!! Our mothers are such a special gift! Since this is the month of Mothers Day, I want to publicly honor mothers, especially my own.

As you may know, I have two mothers, so I am doubly blessed. One gave birth to me and one raised me. The first provided the building blocks necessary for me to become the person I am; and with those building blocks, the second nurtured and guided me to become the best I could be. Thank you, Susan, for giving me life and loving me so much. I am so glad God brought us back together. Thank you, Mom, for being the best mother a girl could ever hope for. I am so glad God picked you to raise me. I am who I am because of both of you.

Blessings to all the mothers in the Charis family,

Kristin Schuchmann

'Behold, I will bring them from the north country, And gather them from the ends of the earth,
Among  them the blind and the lame, The woman with child and The one who labors with child,  together,
A great throng shall return there...And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD.'
