Maidens By His Design Workshops

Young   girls   today    often   do    not   receive   a  Christian  perspective   on   their   coming - of - age  cycle.       Mothers sometimes  do  not  realize  how  they can place a Christian view  on  such  an  event  in  a girl's  life.   In this workshop, mothers  and  daughters  learn  together  about  this  topic, educating  themselves  and   sparking  useful  conversation between them about God's design for women.

Hello from Sunny Florida!!!

We're here! We moved into our new home on May 2 and I'm enjoying every square inch of it!

Well, this month I have been without internet in my home because it took a while to get it hooked up out here in the sticks. I could have gone to the library (really not sure where it is) to get online and submit my article to the editor on time and do all the other computer work I "need" to do, but I decided that I would just wait and enjoy my very brief season of being completely unplugged. We got internet this week and Todd hooked up the computer, so now Susan can add this section and send out the newsletter.

I've never moved into a new home before, so this is an adventure that I want my family to thoroughly enjoy. I must say, it was tempting to go full speed ahead and get everything unpacked and back to normal school and work (and cause much unnecessary stress for my whole family), but my assignment before I left Virginia was to learn to REST. So I'm committed to it!

Not only have I chosen not to stress about my lack of a computer and the consequent inability to get my work done, but I am not even uptight about the literal mountains of boxes yet unpacked, the mountains of empty boxes in the garage, the list of things I'm supposed to send to the builder so they'll know what needs to be fixed, or the fact that all our homeschooling books and supplies are at the bottom of the mountain of boxes in my office. We're just enjoying reconnecting as family and gradually making our new house a home (Todd was in FL for two and a half months before we came down and we missed him terribly).

So, in addition to gradually unpacking and settling in, I have learned to enjoy swimming in our pool (Rose likes to ride on top of me when I swim), I've read a book and have started on a second one, and I have started playing the piano again. It has been so wonderful to feel free to spend an hour or more a day playing the piano, singing, and worshipping God. These are things that I'm not going to stop when I get back to "normal" life. These things are now part of my normal life!

If you are ever in North Port, Florida, give me a call and stop by to see us. It is a great place to vacation and I'd love to see you!!!

Blessings,
Kristin

P.S. A belated Happy Mother's Day to all of you who are mothers! I hope you had a great day; you certainly deserve it!

'Behold, I will bring them from the north country, And gather them from the ends of the earth,
Among  them the blind and the lame, The woman with child and The one who labors with child,  together,
A great throng shall return there...And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD.'
