Our Charis Family

Becky Rosser

Hello to my new Charis friends and family!

My name is Becky Rosser. I am 22 years old and live in Sun Valley, Idaho.  As the youngest of six kids I have a fairly large immediate family and absolutely love it!  Growing up in the mountains I have enjoyed hunting big game, riding motorcycles, snowboarding, hiking, and mountain biking.  I also love dance and did ballet for nine years.  Other hobbies include sewing, baking, and crafting.

I graduated from high school in 2009 and then went to a small Bible school on the coast of Oregon for a year.  After a summer of camp ministry, I moved back home to live with my parents.  I became a nanny with the intention of moving to Africa in 2011 for a period of time to live with my cousin Jannekah and fulfill my passion for missions.  After much prayer, I knew it wasn’t God’s time, and that He had work for me to do here.  About two years ago the idea of doing midwifery sparked my interest.  It is not something I had ever thought of doing but for some reason I was being drawn to it.  In October of 2012 I was able to attend the birth of one of my nephews.  From that moment on, I knew God made me to be a midwife!  I am still working as a nanny for two wonderful families, but could not be more excited about starting my journey with Charis.  In the future I hope to open my own birthing center as a ministry tool for women and families as well as go overseas and practice midwifery.  I would also love to get married and have babies of my own in God’s perfect timing!

Actually my cousin Jannekah is also a Charis midwifery student and writes the "Childbirth in Kenya" feature you see here every month.

I am so thankful for this opportunity and am looking forward to seeing the adventure God has in store!

'Behold, I will bring them from the north country, And gather them from the ends of the earth,
Among  them the blind and the lame, The woman with child and The one who labors with child,  together,
A great throng shall return there...And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness, says the LORD.'
